Debt, indifference and redirection of emphasis means that America soon will have no manned space program. This means the United States will be incapable of repairing orbiting satellites and space stations, which ultimately means reduced military intelligence. In short, this country will be falling behind China, Russia, Europe and possibly even Iran in mastering the "High Ground" of space. This is one of the many dangerous consequences of government diverting its attention from its primary duty of national defense, and concentrating on programs and enterprises that are simultaneously imprudent and unconstitutional.
