  • ObamaCare gets the John Gotti Defense

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan characterized ObamaCare as the federal government’s way of saying, “We’re giving you [the states] a boat-load of money, there are no matching funds requirement, there are no extraneous conditions attached to it, it’s just a boat-load...
  • Individual Mandate vs. Individual Liberty

“We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy,” said then Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to her Democratic members before the passage of the Affordable Care Act. Tuesday, justices of the United States Supreme Court asked...
  • Obama: The Manchurian Candidate

Americans can be forgiven for thinking President Obama was in South Korea attending a nuclear conference to deal with a belligerent and nuclearized North Korea. After all, the communist North moved its latest long-range missile to a launch pad to test sometime in April....
  • ObamaCare: A House Divided

“I hate it,” said Abraham Lincoln, “because of the monstrous injustice of slavery itself. I hate it because it deprives our republican example of its just influence in the world – enables the enemies of free institutions, with plausibility, to taunt us as hypocrites –...
  • The Etch A Sketch Republican

“Well, I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign,” said Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstorm to CNN. Romney’s front-man was explaining how his boss, the man who believes in everything and nothing, will move away from conservatism (?) so as to appeal to the nation’s...

Gender Gap Pseudoscience

If the embattled Obama should win re-election, say the pundits, you can thank the “gender gap.” And Democrats have packaged a campaign slogan that seems to be winning the hearts and minds of soccer moms across the nation: “The Republican War on Women.”

Since the good-old-days of the New Deal, Progressive Democrats have carved out a substantial piece of political real estate by buying off various constituencies with taxpayer cash or by placing the self-appointed leaders of these political factions in the media spotlight.

Weekly ITPS: The Good Man's Dilemma

What do we do as Christians when given a choice between two methods of national suicide?  With the apparent certainty of Romney’s Republican candidacy, a dreadful choice confronts Americans: shall the Ship of State be wrecked on the iceberg of economic disaster at 25 knots or shall we hand the pilothouse over to a man who will run America into the destruction at 20 knots?  While there are some measurable differences, especially as they may effect Supreme Court nominations, is Romney willing and able to turn the Titanic hard to right?

Weekly ITPS: Liberal Racism, Social Darwinism and the Right

Listen in as the In the Public Square team discusses the present Supreme Court case regarding Obamacare and the fascinating possibility that Obama will be blamed for a catastrophic policy mistake even though Candidate Obama never advocated the single payer provision in the act that is being challenged!  Conversation over the next two programs will turn on the fact that, like so often, the Left has used and will use again the black vote, and in this case, Obama, to shield itself from obvious criticism.

Obama's Thorny Rose Garden Remarks

Listening to the president’s Rose Garden remarks on Tuesday, you could tell it took every ounce of self-restraint for him not to declare martial law and arrest the five conservative justices of the United States Supreme Court, shipping them to Guantanamo Bay for an indefinite stay. The president all but conceded that the legislative monument he and Nancy Pelosi built to themselves – ObamaCare’s individual mandate – is about to land on the ash-heap of history, declared anathema, repugnant, counter to our nation’s traditions of cherished liberty … oh, and ruled unconstitutional.
